My First 3D Quilling + Hero's Update !

*continuing yesterday's story, this might a very long entry since i'm so excited to share the pics :P forgive me please ;)

ooooh, schooooool holiday! working at home during school holiday can make you very very very tired especially when your house full with kids! so again, the whole day, i can't do any research work. tons of housework to be settled and my hero starts messing up my room with his trillions of ideas that keep pushing him to turn them into real. ohhh =.=" my angel? she plays outside with her friends. heheh ;) others, doing their own business.

my hero told me he wants to do something 3D today. hoho! see, how he wants to challange me? :P okey let us see what he got.

a crayon kuala lumpur convention center. oh look at all the glues! :D

OMG! a whale!!!

a standing blue butterfly. me myself never make my butterflies stand :P

last but not least, mr. scarecrow! {really LOVE this!} :D it's a totally a brown man at first,
so i gave him green hat, pinnochio's nose, reddish smile, blue buttons and a football. now he happy! :D

end up to be 2D except for the KLCC building, but i'm really² impressed with his creations! and yup, he successfully makes me felt challanged and even defeated ;) and because of that feelings, i accidentally made my first 3D quilling! yeeehaa! grr.. :P

beautiful blind little girl. i love every details of her: her hair, her dress, her shoes ^^
adding some more hair for her ;)

and this beautiful blind little girl really shakes his macho scarecrow now! LOL! what a great moment we had today :D oh, can't wait to see his next creation. ahahah! >:D

hope you enjoy reading this entry ^^ happy becoming weekends everyone! ♥

My Angel's Expression

Last  night while my hero busy quilling and i'm excitedly taking pictures of him, i saw my little angel (which is our youngest sister) sat back at the corner of my room with her sad expression since she know she's not creative enough as her brother. actually, she is a happy go lucky kid and love to do everything at once! talking a lot while eating, telling stories each time we gather together, singing while bathing, recording videos of her teddy bears talking and fighting. etc. etc :P

so i told her, "why don't you make one simple quilling first. you need to practice more if you want to be like your brother. i promise to take picture of it and share at Simple Rhyme okey?"

now she feels happy. see the frog (what is that at it's forehead? a sleeping mask! hahah)
i just realize it's the frog that my brother made last night! it's name: keroppi!

so she agrees and she did one last night. and guess what? it's the sad expression! oh, poor my little angel. i felt so sorry and guilty :'( but at the same time, don't you think it's funny? :P

the sad expression: the blue one, she told me it can be two things.
tears or it can be a sweating expression. funny! :))

this evening she makes another one. it's an angry expression. hahah! now i felt ashamed. honestly, sometime i can't control my anger especially when she keep dancing and singing and keep asking me when can i allow her to use my laptop to play games while i'm trying to focus to do my research. argh!! hahah. bad sister i am.

the blur face but still she's an angry lady. grr.. haha!

anyhow, i really enjoy seing her quilling. never thought of making expressions in my art. she gave me an idea! :D

my angel, my angel :') ^__^

My Hero ♥

while quilling,

"when i grow up, i want to open quilling shop just as you", says him.
"oO, means you want to compete with me?", i asked him :P
"OF COURSE!" *while seriously focus on his creation*

haha! :)) he's been the most loyal person to be beside me from the first time i quill 7 years ago (he was 4 years old at that time) n until now, he is the only one who really really really love quilling. oh, another thing is he follow my style, quill with fingers! (see pic above)

there are what he did last night :D
oh, look at the frog's mouth and cheek! =))

my sweet little brother, my hero! ♥

Behind Every Art is Heart

in learning how to make handmade book, i've bought this one book which shares lot's of handmade books as well as tips and some interesting method in making and binding books. i think everyone will do the same when we have to select the best book; it's pictures and that attract right? ;) and another thing that makes me atrracted to select this book is the word 'expressive' :)

i've scan all the pictures for many² times. and since i am the type of person who love to read stuff i bought including manuals of my handphone {!} now it's the time for me to read what had been written by the author, Alisa Golden {feel free to spent some time to visit her website ;)} and i'm glad i read from the first page even though i can straightly go to chapter one, two, or even skip all the simple things in bookmaking. this highlighted paragraph makes me appreciate her works more and even appreciate those who can positively turn their arts into beautiful things when they are in tough situation.

it reminds me about my life actually. i've been through hard times and stop quilling for almost half a year. until i found myself miss one big pieces of mine, which is the dream of having my own papercraft store. i am now more motivated by her story, and can't wait for weekend to make another version of books, to keep quilling, and to learn how to express my feelings in these two arts beautifully! ^^

i hope all of you are inspired too. happy crafting, and may all of you have a very wonderful days ahead ♥

footnote: plan to collect all her books! :D or perhaps someone wants to give as present for me? :P heheheh.

Review: Quilling Get-Together v1.0

hahah! i know, i know. i' m late. honestly, i'm quite busy with the research works and i just got the picture from my friend yesterday ;) now, where to start? oh, i almost forgot how happy and excited we are at quilling get-together, but i try to make this review as best as i can.

first time meeting all of quillers and newbies are strange. yet my heart felt totally excited! ;) i still can't believe what i dreamed for is now happening, right at this moment :D i am inspired by their enthusiasm, and see what i've made? i love those! ^^

All my 3 cards: funny how i can be so creative in mixing colours :P hahah

looping technique is new for me but i've try it a week before this get-together. the different is, mixing suitable colours is so not me. i always have trouble with mixing colours. but at that time, together with them, i am inspired and feel like being moved by them ;) *oh, please ignore my english. i always have trouble finding suitable vocab ;P*

everybody seem so busy! :D

the desks are full with creative items and colours. the laughter, exchanging tips, and the new ideas have surrounded us. like new aura. whoa~ am i exaggerate it too much? :P but honestly, that's what i feel ;) you know, i can't stop myself to keep standing and walking to see what others are doing, hoping i can steal some of their ideas! heheh :P *wink!*

tada! ♥ these are all that we've done on that day ^^

we quill for almost 5 hours. non-stop. not feeling hungry or thirsty! just quill and quill until the end. at my side, we are a bit shy i guess :P we don't talk much. but at the other side, we have happening people who talk, and laugh all the time ^__^ err.. perhaps, the next time we meet, shy people {including me who always speechless when meeting new people} can talk a bit more too ;) hihi.

i really miss them all, and wish we can meet again.. before next year? ;')

p.s i: more pictures, can be found here. oh, and here and here ;)
p.s ii: the best review can be found here and here ^^

Pink Ribbon {Breast Cancer Awareness Month}

breast cancer is one of the most killer disease to women; and to some men also. and therefore, since 1985, if i'm not mistaken, October has become an official month for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month {NBCAM} ─anybody notice it? this yearly event is aim to increase the awareness of this disease, so that people will take action to prevent and lower down the risk of getting it. plus, to raise the fund too. honestly, i just knew this since last year, and i almost forgot it this year! *how forgetful i am :-S* anyhow, it still not too late to wear pink ribbon right? ;)

i've made one pink ribbon by using quilling strip.
oh, please don't mind the background. that's part of my workload ;)

therefore, my condolence to those who have lost their love one because of this {me have lost one too :'(} and for those who still fight in this battle, i hope you stay strong and become stronger each day. those who still didn't take early detection, i hope you do so as fast as you can. and please please please, take a good care of your breast, women! oh, men also.

you can read more about breast cancer here. this official website shares everything about breast cancer including symptoms and diagnosis, treatment and the side effect, daily matters and how to low the risk of getting it. they also have chat room and discussion board :)

till i write again, have a healthy life, and may you have a great weekend! love, As.

i've designed my own 'sampul raya' {money envelope}
-which is one of our tradition-for 'eid to be given as a gift for kids ^^

to be honest, new mood after 'eid is hard. i miss quilling so much, but ideas wont come out! >.< luckily, i've ordered  a new paper shredder before 'eid. and when it arrive few days ago, the mood has come and i'm totally excited! ;)

my new tiny little shredder ^^

to be more inspired, i've shred all 27 different colours and put them i my shoe boxes. now it look like a colourful plants! ^^ and it will soon grow as colourful-ideas-flowers ;)

and to refresh back my quilling skills, i've started by decorating this tiny wooden stick with quilling strips and ribbon. i plan to make it as one of the items in doorgift for my sister's wedding this coming January ^^ isn't it a good idea?

Kids Quilling

having a lot of siblings sometime makes me feel messed. especially when they eager to know what is my next creation. they always ask; "now what?" "any new design?" "oh, why your desk seems clean today?" oh, poor me. being with them makes me MUST be hardwork. no laziness. or else they will ask why. haha!

so, in order to keep them away while me focusing to sketch new design, i always gave them the balance of quilling papers as well as cards for them to make their own and stay away from me. heheh :P oh, i'm really a bad sister aite? ;)

but when they show me their work, i felt really happy! =D i have junior team now, yeay! down here are some of their works. enjoy! ;) {oh mostly, you can see my little brother stole my idea and make a clone of mine. haha! =)) this is fun!}

Can't Wait For Weekend!

back to 2008: japanese style! ^^

oh, i really can't wait for weekend!! but for now, i have to make today as productive as i can. finish up all the quantum works and make sure i won't bring them to weekend. oh, i hope i can :-S

well, basically for this month of Ramadhan, i slightly rearrange my life timetable. each weekend will be fill with craft project {which is other than quilling craft} and also finish up all the custom made orders as well as 'eidulfitri's order. my mind just can't stop thinking of this and that. stamping, origami, bla bla; especially when i found lots of blogs with tons of easy craft tutorial. argh! felt like fainted for 3second! >.< my brain almost blow up and my heart felt like want to explode! {cuz' i can't apply them right now :'(} ohhh! >.<

okay-okay, have to get back to work.
anyway, may you have a great weekend! ^__^v

New Layout

i am a bit lost lately. too many works, but too little time. too many dreams, but had a very limited resources and ability. so, to have a fresh start again; i always believe in changes. everybody can make a small change at a time. i remember few days ago, i read some article in magazine. the author said that japanese people believe that cutting hair can make a new person in you. so when you've been through a hard time, you can always start your new life again by cutting your hair! ;) sounds funny right? but let me tell you, it really works! i've done it many times already :P

so, since this blog has no hair :P, i change the layout: to be more simple but lovely as it's name ^^ now i feel like want to start from the beginning again. new design and new paper product with of course, must have my quilling art inside it ;) hmm, i have to find something unique so that when you see my craft anywhere, you know it is my style. sometime i wish i am a graphic designer students :P heh~ well, still thinking about it. i see most of crafters have their own uniqueness and i can easily recognize their work. but mine? mine is so random =( this is not good.

anyway, that will be in my future plan list ;) now, what do you think about this new layout?

Quillers Are Everywhere!

"Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun."
{Mary Lou Cook}

back to 2008: making orders for ramadhan and hari raya.
one of my unforgettable moments =')

just add some more malaysian as well as international quillers on my sidebar. feel so happy knowing all of them and get inspired by thier work. for me, each of them have their own style and personality in quilling. you see, everyone is making a butterfly. but they are never the same! same goes with flowers and birds ^^

there's one blog that really makes me amazed. she did all the quilling in 3D! im sure most of quillers and quilling lovers had heard about 3D quilling right? here is her blog http://natiquill.blogspot.com/ take a look. really cute and sweet ;;) love all of them especially when she makes quilling dolls! ♥

i always plan to make one, but it really takes a lot of time and quilling papers. ok in short, i am lazy and not really creative :P anyway, hope the new links added may inspired you and happy quilling! ^^

SR's Rubber Stamp

after inspired by friends online (especially kak lin and kak miyyah), i start this business slowly step by step. and today, another progress have been made =) a rubber stamp! ^__^ for tagging my product, of course. ordered from euphoria craftwork; her work is very fast yet very neat and satisfying! {thank you euphy! ♥}

i've made an order for multi-size rubber stamp last week, and i received the package yesterday. wii! ^__^ feels like want to stamp it everywhere! on my craft stuff, my pencil box, my papers, my desk. wargh!!! :P it also came with some simple and easy instructions on handling and cleaning the stamp. very useful!

oh by the way. there's a story behind designing this rubber stamp. at first, i just sooo in love with mistral font. so i decided to use the font for 'Simple Rhyme' wording. then i excitedly show it to my sister. "done! simple enough right!" ^^ suddenly she said: "eh, why it's look like 'Secret Recipe' eh?" {me: eh?? o_O} mhahaha! =)) what a coincidence! ^^' oh, really she save my life. or else people will see my brand tag as copycat! roar!! >.<

Let's Try My Luck!

since last month, i just can't wait for this giveaway organized by Lin Handmade Greeting Cards. And now, the time has come! ^__^ wihuu!! for me, kak Lin will always surprise her readers with her own styles as well as her generous heart for sharing all the tips and tutorials in making cards. from pop-up to emboss, origami to of course my favorite papercraft, quilling! ;)

this time, her giveaway came with a very bright and sweet colours ^__^ and again, i'm amazed!

the front cover seems like a bit english style while the best part (for me) is her pop-up flower hidden inside the card. it was like a surprise when we open it! uhuhu~ isn't it sweet? ^__^

well, honestly deep inside my heart, i always wish that one day somebody could give me at least a small quilled card. but sadly, (since i made quilled card) no one intended to give this type of greetings to me ;) hohoh~ so, i wish i could win this giveaway, to be kept as the most precious gift i ever dreamed! wish me luck! ^^

Paper Shredder

as i promised to kak lin, this is another entry about my craft tool. even some of my friend also ask, is there any machine did i use to cut the papers? well previously, i just use traditional machines called knife and ruler :P well; using these things make my fingers been cut together also {sometime}. haha! ouch~

then one day {during my undergraduate}, i saw at my department a huge plastic bag consist of shredded papers. "oh! its like my craft!" said me to my friend. i even take two or three {supposedly private and confidential paper} and quilled it in front of my lecturer's office. haha! :)) {playing with rubbish??} well, it actually after office hour. so, everyone had already went home :P

my paper shredder with its dustbin. size: A4. shred size: 6mm

starting that day, i search for this machine. actually, i rarely go out and seek for craft shop. so i only found this expensive thing at popular :( oh my my. why this machine cost more than hundred?? but, i really need this thing! >.< so, patiently, i collect money and start saving for RM210 shredder. i've bought it last year on september. and regardless of its price, i'm glad it helps me a lot especially during peak season such as hari raya and final exam :') really helpful! wiihuu ^__^

until few days ago, kak miyyah told me that she bought a shredder with only RM29! OMG! feels like wanna cry! for A4 size, it only cost RM39 :'( huhu.. for me what matters is the shred size. hers is 3mm. what a perfect size! mine is double. so the quilled became a bit high. oh plus, it works with usb. not a plug. what a great feature with so much much much cheaper than mine. wuu~ T__T

so dear quillers, i share this mistake experience to all of you so that you guys know that quilling can be so much fun without having to spent a lot of time for cutting papers. plus, the proper place and reasonable price to find paper shredder. here, i share the link of kak miyyah's entry about her cute lil machine ;) and last but not least, enjoy quilling!!
