Handbound Books

i always dream to make my own book or journal. and since today is my birthday, i decided to try to make one as present for myslef. tada! :D combination of my three passionate: journal making, origami and *must have!* a bit of quilling as decoration ;) oh, that quilling flower, you may fond the tutorial from miss solehah at her blog ;)

As, they are both gorgeous but I do like the classy look of the first. The pages look intricate and as if a page is inserted into a 'holder' - is that right? Is there a name for this style of pages? Oh, you are so clever! I've been wanting to do books for ever but just never get round to it.

♥ thank you all for the birthday wishes =) ♥

kak ila: hehehe, baek! :D

ally: yup it is true. this book is more siutable to be used as photo album. as i said, it's the combination of jornal making (sewing part), origami (the folder), and quilling (the decoration). so there are no specific tutorial and hence no particular name for it, cuz i learn those three separately. but all i can say it is a origami handbound book. but if you're interested on how to make the folder, it actually made from water lily origami. here's a benificial link for you: http://myhandboundbooks.blogspot.com/2008/01/origami-water-lily-tutorial.html i've alter a bit so that i can sew the lilies. btw, the blog shares a lot of handmade books and they all are very great! :D

kak asma: insyaAllah as ad ms nanti as try buat k? :)

ann: the first one, i made based on my favorite combination actually, brown and turquoise :P i always hope to get handmade journal as persents but since no one knows, make it for myself is much more better rather than hoping :P all i can say, i'm really proud and happy to get this from 'pieces' of me :P heheh ;)

kak julie, msraiza, kak aswani: thank you! ♥ ♥ ♥

kak adillah: feel free to try anything i've shared here :) m glad it inspires you ^^
